Tunnels are well-established for transporting goods and people. They help reclaim land by moving transport underground, reducing noise, shortening transport routes, and minimizing traffic jams. For public transport in bigger cities, tunnels are often the only option. However, new tunnel construction requires concrete, which is known to significantly contribute to global warming due to its inherent CO__2 emissions during production.
